Golden Hour (Peru) Wholesale

This is a very special coffee for us, as it is the first Gesha variety we are releasing. It is a delicate, washed coffee, fragrant and moreish and we hope you .Grown and processed in the Nuevo Progresso farm, these beans are carefully fermented for 36 hours before being washed and dried. 

The farm is managed by Lucio Luque and no chemical fertilisers or herbicides are used at all at the farm. Lucio, like most other producers in the area, produces his own organic fertiliser from coffee pulp and guinea pig manure, something very common in Peru.

El Nuevo Progreso is a 4ha farm split between two plots and is owned by Lucio Luque and his family. Lucio grows gesha variety and has almost completely renovated all of his land with gesha.

The farm is split between two plots, one which sits at around 2200 metres above sea level and the other which is slightly higher reaching 2400 metres.

Espresso: 1:2 coffee to water, water temperature 91°C, extracted in 28 – 32 seconds

Pour over: 1:16 coffee to water, water temperature 89°C, pour in stages, brew time 2:30-3:00 mins

French press: 60-65g coffee per litre of water, water temperature 91°C, brewed for 3-4 mins

Aeropress: 16g coffee, water 250g, water temperature 91°C, brewed for 1:30-2 mins, press time around 45 sec

Stove top: 18g Coffee - 200g water - 94 degrees - grind size extra fine - brew time 5.5 minutes
