Serene is a Rwandan specialty coffee decaffeinated using the natural sugarcane (Ethyl Acetate) process. Sourced from farmers across the Kibuya region, and exported by C.Dorman, an exported based in Kenya.

The washed process highlights clarity and sweetness, while the sugarcane decaffeination method maintains the bean’s natural aroma and flavour integrity. Serene offers a clean, balanced cup that captures the zest of high-quality African coffee without the caffeine.

Sourced from producers in Kibuya, in western Rwanda; an area renowned for both alpine like vistas, and the numerous small islands of Lake Kivu. Farmers cultivate small plots using sustainable, traceable practices that preserve the environment and ensure long-term soil health.

Process Info

The Ethyl Acetate (sugarcane) decaffeination process uses natural EA derived from sugarcane, combined with pure mountain spring water. Beans are gently steamed to open pores, then rinsed repeatedly with EA to remove caffeine while preserving flavour. Once decaffeinated, they are dried to 10–12% humidity and sealed with a neutral natural wax. This careful process protects the bean structure and results in a naturally sweet, clean cup that reflects specialty coffee at its best.
